I draw women who are growing up, trying to find their place, and navigating the unfamiliar world. Growing up as a 1.5 generation immigrant I always felt like I am stuck in the in-between state where I am neither local nor a stranger to the world around me. The characters in my illustration travel to otherworldly places learning the way of the world.
In my motion graphics and animation projects, I am able to tell more about my characters and the world. The way characters hold their posture and move about, how lights interact with peculiar plants and animals all tells their special characteristics, In the form of video the narrative has a space to develop further.
